KORI
Kori is a certified BASI Pilates instructor, a native Chicagoan, and a lifelong athlete. She has been teaching Pilates since 2009 and finds the Pilates method to be a safe and effective way to exercise, rooted in total-body control, awareness, and mindful movement. While completing her BASI (Body Arts and Sciences International) training, Kori experienced a bike accident that resulted in a scapular fracture. She used Pilates as an integral part of her recovery, giving her firsthand insight into how the method can support healing and provide safe and effective options for those who need strengthening, modifications, or a more body-conscious approach to exercise.
Kori has experience working with special populations, including pre- and postnatal clients. She has also taught alongside physical therapists, working with clients rehabilitating from sacroiliac joint dysfunction, osteoporosis, diastasis recti, and low back pain. Her training and experience also includes: trigger point therapy, foam rolling, the Alexander Technique, Gyrokinesis, the Gokhale Method, Yamuna, and The MELT Method. She draws from her training to create thoughtful, individualized sessions tailored to each client’s needs.
Kori takes a holistic approach to teaching, challenging each client while remaining mindful of their unique abilities, goals, and skill level. Her goal is to help clients transform the way they understand and experience their bodies. Pilates sessions with Kori can enhance strength, posture, physical awareness, and confidence while developing a deeper understanding of healthy body mechanics.
